Erase data directly from the hard disk

The version is specially developed for PC-suppliers that customise PCs for end-users. Novo Group in Finland has estimated that the company in 2001 will sell between 5,000 and 10,000 PCs in which ExpertEraser™ has been pre-installed. The users activate the program from Windows and by use of a password. ExpertEraser™ has a very user-friendly interface, with automatic detection of the number of disks in the PC and with a report generator for the user's control and safety. When the process has been executed, the program will also erase itself. After a complete erasure, the hard disk is ready for formatting and new use.

The ExpertEraser™ solution is compatible with Intel-based PCs that run Windows.

Change of stance
Data erasure has so far been a marginalized subject that most people have not understood properly. We now experience that data erasure is regarded as a data safety product similar to anti-virus and encryption. Ibas experiences increased demand for customised data erasure solutions. So far, it has been common to deliver used PCs to companies that have specialised on recycling and that attend to the customer's safety by physically carrying out the erasure for the user. Now, Ibas delivers solutions that will make the users capable of carrying out the erasure themselves before the PCs will be delivered. Of course, this will increase the user's safety and ensure that their sensitive data will not be lost, says Tormod Nymoen, Marketing Director of Ibas AS.
